The peace of Dolores (Alicante) has been shattered by a new incident of vandalism during local festivities. In the early hours of Saturday morning, September 13th, coinciding with the “chupinazo” (fireworks) celebration, a hooded man painted the facade of a house in the town centre red once more. According to the owner, this is the third time the residence has been attacked in a similar manner.
The victim stated that he had no disagreements with anyone and has no idea who could be responsible for these actions: “I haven’t had any problems with anyone; on the contrary, that’s why I don’t know who this person could be.” Despite the frequent incidences, the neighbour is appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the perpetrator, who was seen on film around 4:00 a.m., albeit his face is obscured by his hood.
The footage shows a hooded individual approaching the house and throwing red paint at the walls, windows, and door before departing rapidly. The Guardia Civil is conducting an investigation to identify the perpetrator of the third consecutive incident.
The neighbour has posted images and videos of the incident on social media and local media, pleading for help from the public. “If anyone can help me and thinks they’ve seen a person with the characteristics seen in the video, please contact me privately,” he begrudgingly asked.
The event, which has sparked concern in the municipality, occurred during the patron saint celebrations, heightening neighbourhood fears that the perpetrator will strike again.
