The Guardia Civil apprehended a guy accused of drug trafficking after he was stopped by officers while transporting multiple bags of various narcotics in his vehicle, separated into doses and ready for sale.
The incident occurred on the morning of August 24th in the town of Bigastro, while officers from the Torrevieja Citizen Security Unit (USECIC) were performing a precautionary check to identify vehicles and individuals near a nightclub. Even though it was 11 a.m., there was a sizeable crowd in the neighbourhood.
When they identified the occupant of a car, who became angry upon seeing the officers, they became suspicious of his behaviour and started to investigate whether he was hiding anything. Initially, they discovered an open dose of cocaine among his possessions. They inspected the interior of the automobile in which he was travelling and discovered many bags containing a substantial amount of the material, separated into individual dosages ready for sale, as well as multiple bills of all sizes.
Substances
Once on the official premises, the doses were weighed and documented, yielding 97 MDMA tablets, 58 grammes of crystal, 58 grammes of speed, 31 grammes of cocaine, and 4 grammes of pink cocaine.
The 31-year-old male was arrested for alleged public health violations relating to narcotics trafficking. After appearing before the Orihuela Court of Instruction No. 1, he was granted bail.
The seized medications were delivered to the Health Department of the Government Subdelegation in Alicante for analysis.
