Another disaster has occurred in the waters of Marina Alta. Yesterday, Monday September 22nd, the Salvamento Marítimo (Maritime Rescue) vessel Salvamar Fénix retrieved a catamaran that had run aground in Sardinera Bay in Javea, Marina Alta. Two humans and a dog were on board, but all were unhurt.
According to the official agency in charge of marine safety, the procedure was conducted to keep the vessel from drifting and endangering other sailors.
The operation was carried out by the Salvamar Fénix’s skipper, mechanic, and two sailors, as well as a team of controllers from the Valencia Rescue Coordination Centre. Salvamento Marítimo shared a video on social network X showing the catamaran’s towing.
