The National Police detained two individuals accused of perpetrating two separate robberies at an Elche-based company’s warehouse and a cafe in downtown Elche (Alicante). The alleged criminals were arrested when Forensic Police recognised them.
The first incident took place at the restaurant, where one of the men allegedly broke the glass door with a medium-sized rock and stole the treasure, which included coins and other cash worth €2,100.
However, the claimed perpetrator left evidence on the scene that directly implicated him. The inquiry began with a visual search of the murder site, where Forensic Police investigators discovered these remains, which were later analysed to identify the identification of the accused, a 49-year-old man.
At this time, the Judicial Police officers resumed their investigation, aiming to determine whether the indicated individual was engaged in the incident and, if so, locate and arrest them.
Following the inquiry, the suspect was identified as the alleged perpetrator of the event. He was located and apprehended at the penitentiary where he was being housed, according to a police statement.
Second robbery
On the other hand, the second heist occurred at an Elche-based company’s warehouse, where the suspected offender hopped the fence and broke into a van parked in the lot. This purportedly led to a stockpile of coins for spare change.
Later, he allegedly smashed open the access door to the company’s offices with a crowbar discovered at the site of the heist and stole €700. Similarly, following the occurrence, officers from the same police units involved in the case performed a visual check of the premises, and traces of the accused offender were discovered. A 49-year-old male was identified through subsequent analysis.
Once again, Judicial Police officers conducted an investigation based on the Scientific Police’s technical police report, which resulted in the indictment of the defendant as the alleged perpetrator of the reported occurrence. The investigators in charge of the case tracked him down and detained him.
As a result of a coordinated police operation by both units of the Elche Police Station, two different robberies in Elche establishments were successfully addressed.
