The National Police have arrested two people for attempted murder after they fired at least 12 rounds at three people sitting in the doorway of their home, two of which struck the victims.
The event began about 12:30 a.m. on September 2nd in the Cartagena neighbourhood of Los Dolores, when several people driving two cars fired at least 12 rounds at two men and a woman sitting in their home’s doorway.
As a result, the two women were hurt, one with three wounds to the leg and the other with a gunshot to the belly, and were taken to a hospital in Cartagena.
Initial investigations revealed that the shooting was the result of a conflict between two families living in Cartagena, which began with personal problems and escalated into a firearm attack.
After conducting numerous investigations, National Police officers were able to identify, locate, and arrest two of the alleged culprits, charging them with attempted homicide.
After being presented before the court authorities, they were remanded in detention. The investigation continues in order to find and arrest the other culprits.
