A 56-year-old woman died and a 21-year-old male was critically injured in a traffic collision on the A-7 highway viaduct in the Murcia district of Javalí Viejo, according to sources from ‘1-1-2’ and the Guardia Civil Traffic Department.
Apparently, both were in the same vehicle—the lady as the driver and the male as the passenger—when, just after 3:00 p.m., they collided with a van driven by a 47-year-old man, who was unharmed in the accident.
As a result of the incident, the first car flew over the viaduct’s retaining wall and crashed down a lower track, where it came to rest upturned.
Several ambulances from the 061 Emergency Medical Service, firefighters from the Murcia Fire and Rescue Service, and Guardia Civil and Local Police officers responded to the scene.
Firefighters worked to release the passengers trapped inside the automobile. Unfortunately, the collision killed a 56-year-old woman on the spot, while the other occupant, a 21-year-old, was brought to Virgen de la Arrixaca University Hospital with critical injuries.
In a seperate incident, according to ‘1-1-2’ sources, emergency services treated and transferred a 26-year-old woman, the driver of a car, to the hospital after she came off the road and went down an embankment while driving on the AP-7 motorway via San Javier (Murcia).

The Emergency Coordination Centre got many reports from witnesses to the accident, beginning at 11:46 a.m., who saw the car fall and come to rest upside down close to the aforementioned highway’s service lane.
Guardia Civil patrols, the San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar Local Police, ambulances with paramedics from the San Pedro del Pinatar City Council’s Emergency and Civil Protection Service and the 061 Emergency Management Service, and firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium were dispatched to the incident.
Medical workers treated the driver and the only occupant of the crashed vehicle. A Mobile Emergency Unit from 061 brought her to Los Arcos del Mar Menor Hospital in San Javier, where her injuries did not appear to be critical.
