Renfe has set up 170 bus routes between Alicante and Crevillent since Adif is going to work on renewing the track between these two towns.
The goal is to make sure that those who ride the C1 commuter train and medium-distance buses can get around on Saturday, October 18th, and Sunday, October 19th.
Renfe said in a statement that the four daily trips planned each way on weekends between Callosa de Segura and Alicante will be run by bus instead.
The company has set up 170 bus runs for the weekend, with 8,500 seats available, or 4,250 seats per day. For each train run, there will be an average of three buses with 50 seats each. The company plans to run up to six buses per trip at peak times.
The Valencia-Cartagena Intercity train will not run in either direction over the weekend for long-distance services. This train will not run between the two cities. Instead, a bus will take people between the two cities.
Renfe said that customer service channels and passenger communications have been “strengthened” to let people know about this alternative service, which is made possible by upgrades to infrastructure, through public address systems on trains and at stations, and through signs at stations.
