José Vicente Fuster García led the presentation of the city’s new Civil Protection headquarters at the Benidorm Local Police Station on Saturday, October 11th. The new local chief was joined at this presentation by Jesús Carrobles, the Councillor for Citizen Security, and Luis Martín Arévalo, the Chief Superintendent of the Local Police. There were also Civil Protection volunteers and representatives from the Local Police and Fire Department, among others.
At this meeting, the group talked about their new goals and problems. The councillor said that the goal was to make Civil Protection a “more participatory, more dynamic, and more open to the public” force.
Carrobles said that the City Council is striving to give Civil Protection new places to hold its meetings and activities. The new leaders want to do a lot of things right away, like “offer courses in high schools and work with other regional groups to share information and make synergies to improve service.”
