Two men and a woman have been arrested by the National Police in Rojales and Daya Nueva on suspicion of drug trafficking activities that put public health at risk. The operation, which was the product of a concerted investigation, has shut down multiple narcotics black spots in both communities.
Sales points
These points of sale were in private homes and worked as distribution centres, sending goods to both end customers and small-scale redistributors in the neighbourhood. The National Police say that the inquiry started after they got word that a man living in Daya Nueva was reportedly selling cocaine from his own home.
According to the same sources, the investigation, surveillance, and ongoing monitoring allowed cops to corroborate not only the truth of the information but also the fact that her partner and another guy were involved in the drug distribution.
The three suspects worked together to sell drugs from three different homes between Rojales and Daya Nueva. This spread out their risks and made it hard for security officials to find them.
Last step
In the last part of the operation, officers searched three houses at the same time and found a large stash of drugs, including more than 850 grammes of cocaine, different amounts of hashish and methamphetamine (also known as “crystal”), four precision scales, €1,115 in cash in small bills (a common sign of retail transactions), a vacuum sealer used to divide and hide the drugs, and a car that was said to have been used in the network’s logistics.
The courts
After the three suspects were arrested, they were escorted to police headquarters for the necessary steps and then to the Torrevieja Investigative Court. The National Police have not said if the judge let them go or kept them in jail.
