Belgian authorities obtained a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) for a 25-year-old man in Dénia. He was arrested by National Police for robbery with violence, threats, and having firearms without permission. The young man was arrested by officers when he went to the police station to do some paperwork.
The fugitive had run away from Belgian law after being given a maximum term of three years and four months in jail for crimes committed in Antwerp between September 2023 and February 2024.
The person who was arrested was a member of a gang that stole things using violence. He would use violence against his victims to steal their jewellery. He is also charged with threatening other people with a gun.
After police looked into the case, the detainee was sent to the Central Investigative Court of the National Court, which is in charge of handling his extradition.
