The Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium said that a large fire started inside an industrial building in the Finca Lacy Industrial Estate in Elda on Avenida San Luis de Cuba last night, Tuesday November 4th.
It was 7:08 p.m. when the fire was reported, and the operation is still going on. The flames are damaging a building that processes and tans leather. A massive plume of smoke has formed, which can be seen from many places in the municipality and adjacent cities.
No one was inside the building when the rescue teams got there, and no one was hurt.
The Consortium has sent out 14 crews to fight the fire. These include three command and control units (UMJ), three heavy water tankers (BPP), two more heavy water tankers (BNP), and one aerial ladder truck (AEA), as well as crews from San Vicente and Crevillente. The operation includes an officer, a sub-officer, a sergeant, three corporals, and twelve firefighters from the fire stations in Elda, Villena, and Ibi.
