The 1,000 people who work for the Primark clothing brand in the Valencian Community can celebrate a pay rise and fewer hours of labour each year. The unions came to these two fundamental agreements in the new collective bargaining agreement.
With outlets in Alicante, Orihuela, Castellón de la Plana, and two in Valencia, its workers are part of the almost ten thousand people who work there. This deal will last from 2026 to 2028, which is three years. During that time, incomes will go up by 9%, with 3% going up each year.
The Fetico union, which speaks for 33.56% of its workers, thinks that these yearly raises are higher than the average Consumer Price Index. They also say that this will make the workers’ buying power better.
This deal, which was also made with Comisiones Obreras, which has 42.56% of the representation, is waiting for UGT (with 13.8%) to sign it in the next few days. ELA (with 4.5%) has not yet signed it.
There is also a cut in the number of hours worked per year in this arrangement. In 2026, they will go from 1,765 hours a year to 1,760 hours a year later and 1,755 hours a year later, for a total of 10 hours less.
Antonio Pérez, the general secretary of Fetico, says, “It is a great achievement that brings job stability to the company.” “Now, we’re also working on the ARTE agreement, which we believe will move forward soon and be a big deal for the whole industry,” he says.
What else has been done? The union has hailed the negotiations that led to a 45-euro rise in compensation for Sundays and holidays next year. In 2027, this number will go up to 50 euros, and in 2028, it will go up to 55 euros.
Fetico says that it has been decided to cease the rise in the number of people who work irregular hours. This means that this part stays the same.
They also like that the agreement contains what they call “twelve quality weekends,” which are weekends with an average of five days (Saturdays and Sundays) and six excellent weekends with an average of four days (Saturdays and Sundays).
