Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport is becoming more connected by adding new services for the winter season. Ryanair is adding ten more destinations to its schedule till March, and on Friday, November 14th will be the first day of additional flights to Bratislava, Slovakia. The complete seasonal program also includes flights to Linz and Salzburg in Austria, Bydgoszcz and Rzeszow in Poland, Cardiff and Aberdeen in Wales and Scotland, Stockholm, Västerås, and Småland in Sweden, and Lanzarote.
In addition to all of this, there will be more flights to places like Milan, Marrakech, Budapest, and Edinburgh. This is part of a plan that the firm hopes to boost the number of seats available at the provincial airport by 12% compared to the previous winter season. Ryanair will fly to Bratislava four times a week, which is the most flights planned for any of these 10 new destinations.
Alejandra Ruiz, the Irish airline’s representative in Spain, said she was happy with the start of “our new 2025 winter route from Alicante to Bratislava, which has taken many excited travellers on their way to a well-deserved winter break.” “This exciting new winter route will run four times a week. It will add to Ryanair’s already full winter schedule for 2025 and give customers even more options at the lowest prices,” she said.
The provincial airport is also getting ready to welcome back another airline in the summer of 2026. Austrian Airlines has already declared its intention to offer flights between Alicante and Vienna commencing March 26th, with two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays. Along with this service, Austrian Airlines is also launching flights between Bilbao and Vienna. This brings the number of destinations it flies within Spain to eleven, including the Balearic and Canary Islands.
