While the La Nucía Town Hall is still discussing the cost of rubbish collection, a surprising discovery has been made. It looks like about 130 businesses aren’t paying the right fee. This is what the city report says about the recent change to the tax law that sets the price for collecting, moving, and treating municipal solid trash. The study has helped spread the load more evenly among these enterprises and cut costs in some areas.
Plaza got a copy of the report, which says that as of October 20th, 2025, there were 580 firms open. After a study of the municipality and checking things out in person, this list was made. They found that just 450 payments had been made when they compared this information to the data they possessed on rubbish pickup fees. So, they figure that there are 130 cases of people not paying.
They started the process of finding out who owns the property at this point. They don’t expect it to be quick, but the first step has let them organise the activities they do by the sort of activity they do according to the tax law. Also, this has helped them figure out about how much money they are losing because of this tax: €308,605.94.
More over half of the total are of the same type: businesses. The total worth of these businesses is €206,857.56 for the 76 recognised locations, or €2,721.81 per location. Offices, real estate agencies, professional practices, and other comparable enterprises make up the second largest group. Their estimated worth is €2,948.10 for 10 properties. There are nine additional enterprises, such as supermarkets, food warehouses, and similar places, that are worth an estimated €21,005.37.
