A man was detained by the Valencia Local Police just before he was ready to board a ship to Algeria with a car full of stolen electronics, bikes, and other things from France. The police arrested the person near the port as they were checking papers and products as part of their normal duties.
Police say that the car contained an unusually large quantity of stolen items. They found the newest mobile phones, electric scooters, tablets, laptops, bicycles, and other technological devices inside, all packed and ready to go.
The driver, who was going to take one of the boats that connect Valencia and Algeria, couldn’t show where any of the things he was carrying came from. During the inspection, the police determined that several of the items matched reports of thefts that had been made in France a few days before.

Warning from the police around the world
After the first check, the Local Police used the international cooperation protocol to look for any active claims in France. The first examination showed that a large part of the package matched samples that had been stolen in different places in the next country.
While the case is still going on, the suspect was escorted to police headquarters. The inquiry is also being coordinated with French officials. The car and all the things that were taken are still in police possession as they wait for a full investigation.
The normal way to move stolen goods
Police say that networks that move stolen goods illegally often use ships that go to North Africa. The cops acted quickly to stop the goods from crossing the Mediterranean without being scrutinised.
In the next few weeks, the case will be open while the specific source of each item is checked and it is figured out if the person who was arrested acted alone or as part of a group.
