The Guardia Civil caught two women in Oliva trying to steal wallets from old people.
As part of a specific effort to stop thefts at the Oliva market, there is now a strategy to find out who is responsible for the different thefts. These thefts mostly happened on market days, which were every week.
During one of these operations, officers saw two women steal a wallet from a crowded bus stop. The victim was an older person from another country.
Police caught the criminals in the act and took back the wallets with the money and papers. They are two Bulgarian women, 21 and 25 years old, who are being charged with stealing.
Agents from the Main Post of the Guardia Civil of Oliva have been in charge of the investigation.
The women appeared before The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of Gandía.
