The Maritime Rescue aircraft found the 10-year-old child who had been missing for several hours on the coast of Oliva (Valencia) in the water, some 400 metres from the port of this municipality. He was unconscious, but they were able to revieve him.
Maritime Rescue said on Sunday that the boy went missing on a beach about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 29th.
At 9:58 p.m., the Maritime Rescue chopper crew found the child in the water, around 400 metres from the shore.
At first, it was thought that he was comatose, but he was later revived and sent straight to La Fe Hospital in Valencia, where he arrived around 10:15 p.m. and was treated for severe hypothermia.
Around 7 p.m. this Saturday, someone called 112 for help. At that point, a Red Cross boat and the Helimer aircraft were sent out.
The Oliva City Council said that at that point, a big search effort had already begun. It included firefighters, forestry units, canine services, drones, and the Civil Guard’s naval department, which had roughly 80 people.
People in the city who knew about the incident said that it was not clear if the child had gone into the water, which is why all conceivable search methods were put into action.
