A 27-year-old man was badly hurt when an electric scooter hit him on Avenida Novelda in Alicante early on Sunday morning, November 30th.
The Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU) said that the accident happened at 12:30 a.m. A large medical team was quickly put together. It included an ambulance from the Emergency Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) and a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance.
The SAMU medical team took care of the hurt man, who was 27 years old and had a traumatic brain injury as a direct result of the incident. After being stabilised at the site, he was taken by ambulance to the Doctor Balmis University General Hospital in Alicante, where he received specialised care and the full nature of his damage was assessed.
Looking into what happened
The Alicante Local Police came to the scene of the accident to do what needed to be done. The investigation will focus on finding out exactly what happened on Avenida Novelda, a busy road in the city.
This incident shows once again how important it is to be very careful and follow traffic rules, especially because there are more and more incidents involving personal mobility vehicles (PMVs), like electric scooters, in cities.
