A fire broke out on the A-7 motorway at kilometre 34 in the municipality of Elche on Tuesday, December 9th, and a large vehicle was entirely burnt out.
The Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium, which coordinated a big operation in the area, says they got the signal at 3:25 p.m.
The fire started under the truck, damaging the undercarriage and making numerous tyres break because of the heat. The flames spread quickly, covering the whole car and making a big cloud of black smoke that could be seen from many places nearby.

A sergeant, two corporals, and six firefighters from the Elche fire station were sent to the area, along with a Command Unit, a Heavy Urban Pumper, and a Heavy Water Tanker. The squad put out and controlled the fire for several hours.
There were no injuries recorded, even though the fire was enormous. The operation was over at 6:41 p.m., when the fire was out and the area was safe.
