The Department of Tourism has given the job of managing the project and making sure that health and safety are taken care of during the replacement and renewal of urban tourist signs in Orihuela Costa.
The €6,836.50 contract has been given to the company TELCO SOLUTIONS 4U, SL. The goal of the project is to update and improve the current tourist signs so that people can simply make their way to the different attractions in Orihuela Costa.
The project’s design has consistent visual standards, which keeps cars from getting confused and makes the main access points safer at the same time. The work was done at several intersections along the N-332 highway, from Mil Palmeras to Punta Prima, as well as on neighbouring roads in the vicinity.
The new signs will be made of anodised aluminium and will have three-dimensional box structures. The front will be retroreflective, which makes them much easier to see in low light. The signs will be put up on circular poles made of the same material. This material is very recyclable and made in a way that is good for the environment, which is in keeping with the PSTD’s goals for sustainability.
This action is part of the Destination’s Tourism Sustainability Plan and is made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism as part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, which is funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU programme.
