A girl died and her mother and grandmother were hurt this Sunday in Palma de Mallorca after a car ran them over after it got on the pavement for reasons that are still being looked into. Initial reports say that the man may have lost control of the car.
Municipal authorities said that the incidents happened in the morning in the Coll de’n Rabassa neighbourhood, when the motorist drove onto the pavement and hit numerous persons.
The incidents led to the death of a girl and injuries to two other individuals, who are the girl’s mother and grandmother.
The driver, who is about 50 years old, was not hurt, although he did have to go to the hospital for tests.
There are still questions about what happened, but early reports say that he might have lost control of the car, which is why he might have driven into the sidewalk.
Emergency services have been sent to the scene, and a team of psychiatrists from 112 is there to help the family of the girl who died.
