Municipal authorities said on Monday that a free train will once again run every day through the historic centre of Cartagena this Christmas. The train will be supported by the Cartagena City Council and the Open Shopping Centre.
It will run until January 5th, which is the last day. The goal is for kids and adults to be able to have fun while exploring some of the streets in the town centre.
This small train leaves from Plaza Juan XXIII, which is next to the flower sellers. The trip begins every half hour, between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM and between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. It goes in a circle and goes through sites like Calle Caridad, Paseo Alfonso XII in the harbour, Calle Real, Plaza de España, Calle Salitre, and Canales, to name a few.
This train runs every day, although there are some days when it can’t be used because of group trips or because it coincides with Christmas activities or the arrival of cruise ships. It won’t run on December 25th or January 1st.
The last trips of each shift will happen 30 minutes before closing time. The last trip in the morning will be at 13:30 and the last trip in the evening will be at 20:30.
