The Christmas picture for the official Christmas card of the Provincial Police Station of Alicante will be the winning artwork by Elena Bernard Díaz, a girl from the Hermanos Maristas Sagrado Corazón school in Alicante.
The National Police hosted the awards ceremony for the winners of the IX drawing contest dubbed “Christmas Postcard and National Police” at the Provincial Police Station of Alicante. The ceremony was chaired by Commissioner Manuel Lafuente Lázaro, the Provincial Chief of Alicante.
The National Police sponsors this drawing contest every year in Alicante. This year, 15 schools took part, and the contest was split into four groups.
The goal of the contest is to utilise the postcard with the winning drawing as the Christmas card for the Provincial Police Station in Alicante.
So, the first group of students was 6 to 8 years old, the second group was 8 to 10 years old, the third group was 10 to 12 years old, and the fourth group was special education pupils.
After getting postcard drawings from everyone, 100 of them were chosen as finalists after a first round of selection. Three finalists were chosen from each group, and after a long discussion, an overall winner was chosen from among them. Today, the awards ceremony took place for the kids who made the best drawings in each category. The company “Amazon” and “Grupo AKRA-Almacén de Papelería” gave gifts as prizes to all categories without expecting anything in return.
Nine-year-old Elena Bernard Díaz won first place. Her drawing will be used to construct this year’s Christmas card for the Provincial Police Station in Alicante. She goes to school at the Hermanos Maristas Sagrado Corazón in Alicante.
Both the winning kids and their teachers from the schools they go to were there.
“Los cuentos de Alba” also took part. After the awards ceremony, they kept the fun going by giving us some wonderful anecdotes and tales.
