10-year prison sentence sought for rape of a semi-conscious woman on a beach

The prosecution wants a man who is suspected of sexually abusing a woman who was found semi-conscious on a beach near a nightclub in Dénia to go to prison for ten years.

The occurrences took place on August 3rd, 2024, in the early morning hours. The defendant approached the victim, who was alone and lying down in the vicinity, and, with “libidinous intent,” climbed on top of her and sexually abused her. The Public Prosecutor said that this happened even though she said no and tried to pull the accused off of her without success.

The High Court of Justice says that the trial will be held at the Alicante Court today, Monday, December 22.
