Two men died, while a third man was seriously hurt and taken to hospital. When police officers got to the El Pinet apartment complex in the La Marina sector of Elche yesterday, Monday December 22nd at 6:00 p.m., this is what they saw. At first, it looked like the tragedy happened while the bodies were being moved. To make things worse, it looked like at least one person was trapped inside one of the houses. All theories are being looked at for now, but a settling of scores is still possible. The house in question is in the MR-9 region of El Pinet, which is very controversial and almost on the border with the salt flats.
In the street

According to early accounts, the victims were located in the roadway, but there didn’t seem to be any bullet holes in the road. But we don’t know what happened before the fatalities, and a gunshot or even a settling of scores is still possible. Guardia Civil and police officers from Elche, Santa Pola, San Fulgencio, and Guardamar were sent to the area. In these circumstances, it was strange that there were no ambulances on the scene, especially since it looked like there were other individuals in the house late at night, but we don’t know what their condition or status was.
Roads are closed
In any case, the roadways that led to the scene were closed to cars and pedestrians to avoid issues or any meddling. The duty judge was told all that had happened, and permission to enter the premises was asked for, as is usual in these kinds of cases. Even late at night, it was still conceivable for the Guardia Civil’s special operations force from Madrid to arrive if they needed to get into the property. However, in these situations, it is common to wait as long as possible before using alternative methods. After 10:00 p.m., the two bodies were taken away so that they could be sent to the Forensic Institute for autopsy. These autopsies may give more information about what happened. The injured person is in jail right now and may have already made a statement.
