The Guardia Civil has arrested two Polish squatters who were holed up in a property in La Marina (Elche) after they beat two German men to death who tried to kick them out and hurt a third guy terribly. The squatters had been hiding out in the house, which was surrounded by the Guardia Civil, since yesterday, Monday December 22nd, while talks were going on for their surrender. The Guardia Civil has said that it is not possible that the squatters have guns.
The Guardia Civil said that the double murder happened on Monday afternoon at about six o’clock in a chalet in an area where foreigners live. They also say that it wasn’t a fight between rival gangs.
The detectives believe that three Germans travelled to Elche with the intention of evicting two Polish squatters who remained entrenched there. The two squatters then brutally beat the Germans to death, severely injuring a third German who is currently in critical condition in the hospital. The two detainees, who were inside a house located in an isolated area of the Elche district of La Marina, are of Polish nationality and had prior criminal records. The court handling the case has ordered the proceedings to be kept secret.
The Guardia Civil were called by local people after they saw the squatters throwing away the bodies of the victims.
Upon discovering the squatters, they dragged the bodies to the villa’s entrance, where they remained until the arrival of the police and Guardia Civil. The victims had already died after being beaten badly.
