The 112 emergency services said that a person died on Wednesday, December 31st, after being hit by a commuter train near the Los Prados train stop. The Railway Infrastructure Administrator (Adif) sent out a statement on social media at 5:00 PM saying that service on both tracks was stopped because of the accident. The event had an impact on medium-distance trains and the C-2 line, which goes from the Costa del Sol’s capital to Álora. Trains were stopped at their stations.
The National Police and emergency services were sent to the scene and are looking into what caused the mishap and why the victim was there. They have confirmed that the person killed was a 57 year old male.
