A woman gave birth in a doorway in Alcoy yesterday morning, Monday January 4th, with the help of two officers. She and her baby were then taken to the Mare de Déu dels Lliris Hospital in excellent health. Because of this, the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU) had sent a unit of the Emergency Medical Service (SAMU) to the scene.
After 9:00 a.m., two Local Police officers helped the medical team cut the umbilical cord at number 106 on Calle Sant Mateu. The woman was 31 years old and the baby was a girl who had already been born.
According to the CICU and the City Council, both have been sent to the Alcoy hospital in good health. It was a cold and rainy day, but the birth ended happily.
