The lift that goes from Avenida Juan Bautista Lafora to El Postiguet beach will be stopped from today, Monday, January 12th, until Friday, the 16th, so that a maintenance firm can update the machinery.
Starting on Saturday, January 17, the infrastructure that lets people travel to the stronghold will be back to normal.
According to the same sources, the Department of Infrastructure is responsible for maintenance and had already planned to do this work once the new parts that will replace the old ones were available. It is now set to happen next week.
The Alicante City & Beach Tourism Board will add more shuttle minibuses, going from one to three in each time slot. This will make it easier for people to get to the city’s most popular monument and lessen the trouble that this lift upgrade may generate.
