In order to get ready for the 2026 season, almost 200 boxers from eight different countries are attending this week’s international training camp at the Combat Sports Center in La Nucía.
Athletes, coaches, and technicians from Spain, Ukraine, Chinese Taipei, the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Slovakia, and the Netherlands participate in these international training sessions, which are hosted by the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation with assistance from the La Nucía City Council and the Alicante Provincial Council.

Boxers training for their next international competitions, like the World Boxing Cup Stage 1 in Brazil or the European Championship in Bulgaria, which count toward the pre-Olympic ranking for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, comprise nearly the whole Spanish Olympic team.
The Spanish delegation comprises, among others, Enmanuel Reyes Pla, Olympic bronze medallist in Paris 2024, Oier Ibarretxe, also an Olympian in the French city, as well as Pablo Coy, Adrián Fresneda, Mariana Soto, Marta López, Dúnia Martínez and Claudia Alcañiz.
Almost 300 boxers from more than 20 nations will compete in the Boxam International Tournament Elite 2026, which will take place from today, Monday February 2nd to 8th at the Muixara pavilion in La Nucía. This camp also acts as a preparation for that event.
