A total of 3,227 healthcare professionals have applied to the 902 positions that were announced last December by the Ministry of Health. These positions are associated with the health departments of Vinaròs, Requena, Elda, Orihuela, Torrevieja, Dénia, the Hospital d’Ontinyent and its speciality centre, and the basic health area of Andemuz.
During her visit to the Vinarãs Hospital on Friday, January 30th, Asunción Perales, the regional secretary of health, made the announcement. The health department of the hospital employs over 10% of the available positions. In particular, there are 94 openings in the primary care and hospital settings, with 8 reserved for nurses and 86 for physicians.
The great acceptability of this selection procedure, which prioritises experience in the same category and/or speciality, strives to retain talent and ensure equal care throughout the Valencian Health System, as highlighted by Asunción Perales.
The open posts in the Vinaròs Health Department are for medical and nursing specialists to work in various locations, including the Vinaròs Hospital, Alcalà de Xivert, Benicarló, Forcall, Traiguera, and Morella health centres and clinics.
Applicants have already electronically applied to the various categories and/or specialities in which they are interested; the next step is to choose a location.
Although the average surgical waiting list in the Valencian Community is 88 days long, Asunción Perales expresses gratitude to all of the department’s workers for their responsible work, which resulted in a surgical waiting list of 59 days in December 2025.
The regional secretary ends by saying that the quality of life of patients in this department is directly affected by the effort and devotion of healthcare staff.
