The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) and the Local Police of Dénia have launched a campaign to regulate the movement of people and products inside the city. Twenty of the 54 vehicles that were inspected as a result of this activity had some sort of infringement.
One infraction for exceeding the maximum age permitted has been found in the passenger transport case. Passenger safety and public transportation service quality may be jeopardised by this kind of non-compliance.
The emphasis of issues is the transportation of products
With 19 penalties for different anomalies, the transportation of products has seen the most violations, including:
Failing to wear a seat belt.
Technical flaws, like the absence of a valid ITV.
Failure to adhere to regulations pertaining to drivers, such as not using a cell phone while Operating a motor vehicle or not possessing a current Certificate of Professional Aptitude (CAP).
Fire extinguishers may be missing or not maintained.
Issues with cargo security and stowage.
Prioritising road safety
To maintain road safety, the Dénia Local Police have reminded everyone that following the rules is crucial. They also promised to keep implementing measures to increase traffic safety and steer clear of dangerous circumstances.
This program is one of several initiatives to improve monitoring of professional transport, a vital industry for the economy and mobility of the city.
