Collapse in the former Banca Peral building in Elche forces evacuation of residents of the adjacent block

According to municipal officials, an inside collapse in Elche’s former Banca Peral building prompted the City Council to evacuate residents of an adjacent block as a precaution.

The same sources state that no one resides at the location where the events occurred yesterday, Tuesday May 20th, and that it is a protected building.

The internal collapse occurred at number four on Calle Mare de Déu dels Desamparats in Elche, just a few yards from the Town Hall Square, and the adjacent block’s tenants were evacuated as a precaution.
