Man who called a woman a “f***ing Moor” and told her to go to Morocco to be jailed

The Alicante Prosecutor’s Office is seeking a one-year prison sentence for a hate crime against a man suspected of saying “f***ing Moor” and “you need to go to the health centre in Morocco” at a woman in front of him in a queue at the Villajoyosa health centre.

The Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) has scheduled the trial for these incidents to commence on Wednesday, May 28th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Second Section of the Alicante Provincial Court.

On August 1,st 2023, the man approached the queue at a health centre in Villajoyosa and found himself in front of the victim, who was also waiting her turn.

The individual verbally attacked the victim in front of the other users and staff at the centre, using expressions such as “f***ing Moorish,” “you have to go to the health centre in Morocco,” and “it’s my turn and I’m fed up with f***ing Moors.”

According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the man then approached the victim and raised his hand to place it near her face while insulting her.
