The Guardia Civil is looking into the finding of a severely decomposed body that emerged floating yesterday, Saturday May 31st, around two nautical miles off the island of Tabarca in Alicante.
The 112 Emergency Centre received the alarm and notified the Guardia Civil after learning of the discovery of a lifeless person in the sea off the coast of the Alicante island.
Around 12:15 p.m., the Civil Guard’s Maritime Service located the body and took it to Santa Pola’s port. The Judicial Police squad took over the inquiry, according to Guardia Civil sources who confirmed this to this newspaper.
According to this report, the advanced condition of the body’s decomposition indicates that it has been in water for at least two months. In fact, limpets were found adhering to the deceased’s clothing.
At this time, no further information has been revealed about the identity of the body or the circumstances surrounding his death.
