The 112 Andalucía emergency service and the Provincial Traffic Headquarters reported a fatal motorbike accident in Cártama, Malaga, on Thursday, June 5th. This marks the fourth motorbike fatality in the province in less than a week.
Just before 1:00 p.m., the Guardia Civil Traffic Unit reported to 112 that a motorbike had left the road at kilometre 50 of the A-357 highway (Cártama motorway) travelling towards Málaga, at the Cartama exit. The coordination room quickly activated the 061 Health Emergency Centre (CES) and Highway Maintenance, and health sources confirmed that one individual died on the site.
Fourth motorcyclist dead in a week
With this catastrophic accident, the province has lost four motorbike riders in only one week, following Thursday’s accident involving a 57-year-old rider on the MA-20. On Friday, May 30th, two motorcyclists collided on the A-404 near Alhaurín de la Torre, leading to another fatality. Finally, a 60-year-old motorcyclist perished on Thursday, May 29th, in the Monte Dorado tunnel, which connects to the Ronda Oeste.
