Benidorm City Council will open the full Avienda Puerto Rico car park on July 1st, expanding the number of spots accessible along the Poniente seafront, as stated by Councillor for Mobility Francis Muñoz. According to the councillor, “Currently, and as usual, we have 200 spaces available on the parking deck, which is connected to the beachfront via a 24-hour elevator.” Meanwhile, “With the arrival of July and given the clear increase in demand, we are additionally opening the 150 spaces spread across the building’s interior floors from 9:00 a.m. to midnight.”
He confirmed that “Just like last summer, free use of these spaces will continue to be available during July and August,” but he additionally stated that “as we previously announced, the City Council’s intention is to tender the management of this parking lot, following the model of the L’Aigüera parking lot, to provide the best possible service to residents, visitors, and tourists during the busiest times of the year.”
In this context, the Local Government Board authorised the contract terms today, which are being offered for a total of little over 72,000 euros in two annual instalments.
In addition to the public parking lot on Avenida de Puerto Rico, the western region contains about 900 park-and-ride spaces on Avenida de Xixo, Avenida Cuba, and Avenida Alcalde Vicente Pérez Devesa.
