The Third Section of the Alicante Provincial Court sentenced a man to three years in prison for attempted murder, with the mitigating circumstances of reparation for damages and undue delay, as well as illegal possession of weapons, for attempting to kill another man with whom he had an argument on a street in Alicante.
The court’s penalty forbids the offender from communicating with the victim in any way and from approaching her within 500 meters for ten years, and it was imposed following an agreement in which he confessed to the facts and both the defence and prosecution agreed to the sanctions. Before the trial began, the defendant received a reward. The sentence is final and cannot be appealed.
According to the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV), the incident occurred in the early hours of May 27th, 2021, on a street in Alicante, when the guilty man and another man got into an argument for unexplained reasons, during which the latter pushed the former.
At that point, the now-convicted man walked to his vehicle, which was parked nearby, and returned with a revolver, shooting the victim up to four times while yelling, “I’m going to make you dance.”
One of the bullets struck the man in the back, causing injuries that required more than a month to heal. The pistol used to fire the shots was a Guardia Civil-issued type branded with the Benemérita insignia.
