The El Campello Local Police will rent two vehicles to expand its fleet. The City Council has advertised a contract to supply two police cars on a rental basis with no option to purchase, in two distinct lots, for €116,741 (VAT included). Interested companies can submit bids until July 17th.
The lease will last four years, replacing outdated vehicles while fulfilling current service demands. The City Council wishes to retain the leased cars because they are used almost continuously with 24-hour service every day, limiting their usable life. The cars will be delivered three months from the date of signing the contract.
Lot one includes a certified FHEV SUV/crossover or off-road vehicle priced at 56,338 euros. Lot two is a similar vehicle that must contain a crash kit and costs 60,403 euros.
Both will join the newly announced Ford Cougar hybrid patrol car, which is also available for lease. This truck has several safety measures, including bulletproof jackets, a first-aid box, an oil extinguisher, fire blankets, a defibrillator, and a public address system.
