The National Police have arrested a man in Gandia for allegedly stealing 16 laptops and two video cameras from a training institute in Alcoy where he worked as a teacher.
The investigation began after the public school reported that the facility had been burgled, with seven laptops and two video cameras stolen. Through their work, the officers determined that the theft had taken place internally, and they identified one of the teachers as the alleged perpetrator. The investigation also led officers to Gandia, where the alleged thief had sold and pawned the reported devices at a secondhand store in the capital of the Safor region. In that location, they also discovered that the suspect had stolen nine additional laptops from the same school in Alcoy. In total, he allegedly stole 16 computers and two video cameras worth approximately €6,000, according to police sources.
Local Police officers located the suspect in Gandia, where they arrested him. They recovered seven computers, and all the police investigations have been forwarded to the on-call investigating court in Alcoy.
