The two brothers are suspected of killing their father in Molina de Segura. They appeared in court yesterday, Monday July 21st, the same day as the funeral.
Felipe Hernandez’s funeral was scheduled for yesterday afternoon at Virgen de la Consolación Funeral Home.
MASS is scheduled for the Church of the Assumption.
Felipe and Rosario, the suspects in his death, refused to testify in front of the National Police and were transferred to the Guard Court in the city of Vega Media, where they are currently being investigated.
The National Police apprehended both individuals in Archena and transported them to the Molina de Segura Court. Felipe and Rosario used surgical masks to conceal their faces as Rosario was detained. They were calm.
Years of holding a grudge
On the same day of his murder, Felipe Hernández reported threats to his children and requested a restraining order, which was never granted, according to family members. According to the family, the problems stemmed from the businessman and his wife’s separation over a decade ago. The merchant had rebuilt his life with a new spouse, which may not suit their descendants.
Felipe Hernández’s firstborn son is 35 years old, while his sister is younger by four years. He is accused of hitting his father, the main perpetrator of the crime, while his sister, who is also accused of homicide, was with her brother and did not assist him but instead left with a relative after seriously injuring him in his textile business. The two were apprehended by the National Police in Archena, hours after the incident occurred.
The fatal event
The incident occurred on the main street of Vega Media, just before 11 a.m.
Felipe Hernández, 65, was involved in a fight with two of his four children inside the store. The discussion escalated to the point where the sexagenarian fell to the ground due to a blow from his offspring during the family feud. The two brothers immediately departed the scene, leaving the businessman badly injured.
Felipe Hernández survived and collapsed on the street after leaving his business. Witnesses reported that he was bleeding and weak. Witnesses reported that before losing consciousness, he revealed who had struck him: “My children hit me.”
Numerous calls alerted emergency services to a man in need of urgent medical assistance on the public road.
Some feared the sexagenarian had suffered a heart attack.
Despite the arrival of an ambulance and paramedics, there was no way to save the affected individual’s life. The coroner and the judge on duty will lift the corpse.
