The National Police arrested two ladies, aged 44 and 48, after discovering 26 ecstasy pills. One of them was also arrested for attacking law enforcement personnel when numerous police officers intervened in a fight at a hotel in Benidorm (Alicante).
The intervention began after the hotel manager requested a Citizen Security patrol in response to a heated quarrel among several guests.
A woman attempted to hide a plastic bag in a rubbish bin while police were around. The officers collected and investigated the bag, which contained six ecstasy pills.
Police searched the belongings these people were carrying, believing they were hiding more narcotics, and discovered 20 more ecstasy tablets among the other woman’s luggage, according to a National Police statement.
Both women were arrested for allegedly committing a crime against public health, and they were found in possession of 26 ecstasy tablets. One of them resisted arrest by spitting and forcefully grappling with one of the officers, whom she allegedly attempted to attack. She was also detained for assaulting a police officer.
Furthermore, one of the two men who accompanied the women was in Spain illegally and was arrested for violating immigration laws.
Following police investigations, the inmates were turned over to the Benidorm investigating court.
