The Guardia Civil broke up an active drug retail business in a residence in San Javier, Murcia, and detained two men and a woman, all from the same family and aged 38 to 46, for alleged drug trafficking.
Operation “Vamore” included a search of the premises, which led to the confiscation of many dosages of cocaine, hashish, and marijuana required for dosing and selling the drugs, as well as €2,600 in cash, according to Guardia Civil sources in a statement.
The police confirmed that the address was frequented at all hours of the day and night by purported customers, some of whom were children, seeking to purchase marijuana, hashish, and cocaine.
This activity has caused social unrest in the neighbourhood due to a concomitant spike in property crimes reportedly committed by some of the locals.
For six months, the Guardia Civil conducted surveillance and investigations to gather information about the property’s owners, a married couple and one of their brothers.
To escape arrest, the three members of the organisation reportedly implemented tight security measures, such as keeping dogs that warned them to the presence of anyone who might be prowling in the vicinity.
The findings of the investigation were reported to the judicial authorities, who ordered an entry and search of the premises. The Civil Guard searched the home with a huge deployment that included citizen security units, investigation units, the canine service, and a drone team.
Several dosages of cocaine, marijuana buds, acorns, and hashish tablets were confiscated at the residence, together with the essential equipment for dosing and selling the drug, such as packing, cutting tools, and a precise scale, as well as €2,600 in banknotes of various kinds.
Investigators discovered that the couple living in the single-family home had no income, implying that the funds originated from illegal sources. The investigation is still underway, so additional arrests are possible.
