The National Police have figured out who the body recovered in a trash can in Castellón belongs to. The body that was found near Ronda Mijares belongs to Vicente Domínguez, the former husband of the mayor of Almassora. The discovery occurred early Sunday morning, October 19th, when sanitation personnel discovered the body after overturning a rubbish container into a bin truck during their customary route.
Police sources said that the man, who was about 45 years old, was actually the former partner of the Mayor described above. We don’t know what killed him yet, but all signs point to him being battered. We are waiting for the formal autopsy results.
The National Police, in collaboration with the Judicial Police, the Scientific Police, and the forensic team, is conducting an investigation to uncover the truth. People who could have seen something are being interviewed, and no theory has been ruled out.
The finding took place shortly before 5:00 a.m. on Avenida Pérez Galdós, between Ribalta Park and the Castelló Bullring, as the cleaning service workers were carrying out their customary rounds. While emptying the container, which is one of the open kinds still used in the area, the workers found the body and called the police right away.
The police blocked off the area while they checked things out and took the body away. The inquiry is still going on to find out what happened and what might have caused the fatality.
