The Torrevieja City Council has authorised the bid for the finishing work around the Levante Dike and the installation of safety features on the entrance ramp. The Local Government Board called an emergency and urgent meeting last week, to make the decision.
The contract has a tender value of 3,929,412 euros and an eight-month execution duration. It allows for partial acceptances to make the work fit with the port facility’s commissioning schedule, in collaboration with other projects that are already underway.
The goal is to finish the volume erected under the Levante Dam ramp, which will hold the technological control systems for the ornamental fountain and other city services. The project comprises putting in low-voltage systems, lighting for the inside and outside of buildings, wiring and telecommunications, ventilation and air conditioning systems, fire protection, decorative fountains, enclosures, woodwork, paving, and other urban amenities.
The Local Government Board also approved an addendum to the project that adds landscaping and shade features. The goal is to have these be included as further criteria in the bids that companies submit.
The Contracting Committee, on the other hand, has suggested that González Soto, SA be the winning bidder for the work to fix up the fishing pier’s cliff and improve the Muelle Mínguez region. The company had the best score of the six competitors, 94.60 points, and made an offer of €5,055,519, which is 4.9% less than the tender budget.
The time it will take to finish will be three and a half months, which is 15 weeks shorter than the original schedule. The works will also be delivered in stages so that the places can be opened to the public as the port area redevelopment initiative moves forward.
