The National Police have arrested a worker at a company that collects, parks, and delivers cars near Malaga Airport after they broke into the company’s warehouse.
The 37-year-old suspect is said to have stolen a customer’s cars while working and used it to commit the robbery, taking a safe with about 3,000 euros inside.
The National Police said in a statement that the suspect set fire to the car used to perpetrate the crimes, which was nearby, with the goal of destroying evidence.
On August 31st, a break-in was reported at a warehouse in the Villa Rosa industrial complex. The report says that a driver kept crashing a car into the front door of the company, which is near Málaga International Airport and offers pickup, parking, and delivery services for cars.
There are cameras in the neighbourhood that record video
The Robbery Group of the Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police of Malaga, who were in charge of this type of investigation, quickly found the person responsible after looking at many video surveillance cameras in the area. It turned out that the person was an employee of the company that was affected.
The inquiry found that the suspect took a client’s car, which the customer had left at the airport parking lot days before.
The suspect utilised this car to break into the warehouse where the headquarters are located. They employed a method called “aluncroft” to steal the whole safe. The invader then ran away and left the automobile in a neighbouring area, where they set it on fire before driving away.
Firefighters found the stolen safe in the rear seat of the charred automobile. The police finally caught the person who did it, who also had a lawsuit against them.
