The Prosecutor’s Office wants porn actor, director, and producer Ignacio Jordá, also known as Nacho Vidal, to spend four years in prison for reckless homicide. They say he did this during a ritual in July 2019 that involved the poison of the bufo toad.
The actor’s cousin and a friend were also at the actor’s home in Enguera when the death happened. According to the charges, the victim came to spend the day and do a ritual that Vidal was supposed to conduct because he had done it before.
The victim’s siblings and the Prosecutor’s Office, through their Aragonese lawyer Javier Vilarubí, blame Vidal for handling a very dangerous illegal drug known as bufo toad poison and giving it to the victim without measuring or calibrating it.
The accusations say that during the ritual, which all three defendants took part in, the photographer started to stagger and then fell to the ground. A video recording shows that the convulsions started just 24 seconds after he took the drug.
The prosecution says that Vidal kept going with the ceremony even though the main character was still unconscious, shaking, and having trouble breathing. They also say that they didn’t call for help for twenty minutes.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office also asks for the same punishment for an actor’s cousin who was also culpable for the same crime: not phoning 112 right away when the victim, a photographer who was known to Vidal, passed out.
The Prosecutor’s Office wants the two offenders to pay 20,000 euros to each of the victim’s three brothers and sisters.
The private prosecution also accuses Vidal and his cousin of reckless homicide and wants the same four-year prison sentence. However, they also want a second crime against public health for handling the dangerous drug, which raises the sentence to seven years.
In March 2024, the Valencia Court of Appeals overturned the case against Vidal’s temporary dismissal. They found enough evidence to charge Vidal, his cousin, and a friend of both of them, who the private prosecution says is hiding evidence and is asking for a three-year prison sentence for him (the Prosecutor’s Office has not charged this man).
This party wants €150,000 from the three defendants to make up for the mental and personal harm they inflicted.
