As part of the governing team’s strategy to keep and develop the city’s infrastructure, the Crevillent City Council has finished putting in and fixing up 10 drinking fountains in different parts of the city. According to the city government, the goal of the project is to make sure that public spaces are in good shape and working properly, make them easier to access, encourage people to use green spaces and recreational areas responsibly, and help the environment stay healthy.
These fountains get public spaces ready for the hottest months by giving people and visitors places to get water. They are also part of the City Council’s ongoing commitment to taking care of and modernising the city’s environment.
Interventions and where sources are located
David Amorós Candela, the Councillor for Parks and Gardens, went to see one of the new fountains in Parc Nou. He stressed how important these kinds of projects are, even though they may seem small, because they make a big difference in the quality of life for residents and in keeping the municipality clean and working. Amorós said, “Our promise is to keep Crevillent in the best shape possible.” This kind of action shows how much this city government cares about keeping fundamental infrastructure, like fountains, in our parks and squares in good shape.
The new and renovated fountains are spread out over several areas. For example, in the Plaza de la Comunitat Valenciana, three old fountains were replaced, and the connections and drains were checked. In the Plaza Donantes de Sangre, a new fountain was put in with its own connection and drain. In the Parque Ronda Sur, an old fountain was replaced, and a new hydraulic connection was put in. In the Plaza Abel Zaplana, a new fountain was put in with its connection and drain. In the Parc Nou, two new fountains were put in with their connections and drains checked. Finally, in the Paseo del Calvario, two new fountains were added with their connections and drains.
Amorós Candela said that these efforts are part of an ongoing plan to keep green spaces, parks, and street furniture in good shape and make them better. The goal is to modernise public areas and make sure that citizens use them correctly. “We want to make our municipality a better place to live and work with these actions,” the councillor said in closing.
Advantages for people
The new fountains not only make squares and parks look better and work better, but they also help the environment, make it easier to stay hydrated in the summer, and make urban areas more accessible, which is good for both inhabitants and visitors. The Crevillent City Council wants to keep the city clean, safe, and functional, and every move, no matter how minor, should make life better for the people who live there. These projects are part of that goal.
