The Guardia Civil and the police in Orihuela, Almoradí, and Albatera worked together to arrest three men, all members of a family clan from Orihuela, who are suspected of breaking into a well-known decorative lighting company in the Vega Baja region. The men are between the ages of 23 and 46. In addition to the charges of serial burglary, they also face accusations of belonging to a criminal organisation.
The inquiry started on October 6th when a complaint was made at the main Guardia Civil station in Dolores. The complaint said that two burglaries had happened on the same days at the same lighting firm in Vega Baja.
Because the events were so dangerous and kept happening, the Guardia Civil Roca Team of the Torrevieja Company took up the investigation, with help from agents from the Main Post of Dolores and the Local Police of Orihuela, Albatera, and Almoradí.
The owner said that the criminals got into the building by cutting a hole in the fence at the back, stole several lighting items and six rolls of copper electrical cable hose.
Organisation
After looking at the impacted company a few times, the detectives found that the criminals worked together, with clear responsibilities, to get to the back of the building, drill a hole in the metal mesh on the outside, and then drive away in a car.
Thanks to a lot of work, the vehicle’s registration number was found, and later, the three individuals who were inside, who had a lot of previous convictions for similar crimes.
Because the operation was so complicated, the Guardia Civil Roca Team of the Torrevieja Company, the Dolores Main Post, and the Police Unit of Attention and Prevention (UPAP) of the Local Police of Orihuela all worked together to set up a surveillance and control mechanism.
In November, the operation ended successfully when the three suspects were caught driving through Orihuela. One of them had a fake gun with them.

When they arrested the suspect, police took a rifle case, a car audio system, a fake handgun, and other things. They also found three rolls of copper tubing that the inmates had sold at a salvage yard before.
The duty court of Orihuela was in charge of the inmates and the objects that were taken. It ordered their release with safety precautions.
The Guardia Civil wants to stress that this operation, which is still going on, shows how well the Guardia Civil and the Local Police in the province of Alicante work together. Their work together has helped clear up the facts and catch the people who are thought to have committed these robberies.
