According to an official statement from the National Police, they have arrested four people in Orihuela (Alicante)—three men and one woman—who are between the ages of 39 and 66. They are being held in connection with a violent theft that took place inside a home.
The event took place at a property in Orihuela, where two of the suspects, a man and a woman, broke in. They shoved the person who lived there and threatened them with a knife. Then they searched the house and stole things like a cell phone, cash, a bank card, and a bank passbook.
After the crime, the thieves tried to use the stolen card to take out cash from an ATM numerous times, but their attempts were denied.
The police started looking into the heist after the victim told them about it. They said one suspect had been to their house a few days before, knew they lived alone, and had health issues.
Officers were able to find and arrest the other two males involved after asking more questions about how the stolen bank card was used later. They tried to withdraw cash seven times following the robbery, but none of them worked.
Three of the people who were detained have been taken to the duty court in Orihuela after the police did what they needed to do.
